| So... for anyone who has wondered why I use ball-point pen in many of my sketches, here it is. I'm not very fond of pencil. I'm not very particular about my medium, but I enjoy something that can go very dark. I don't believe for a second that the pen is a one-shade medium, and I think I prove in my work that using the right technique, it can achieve a huge range of shades. For me, pencil or charcoal tend to get messy when dark. While I prefer black pen over blue, sometimes blue is just easier to find. lol I do not find the permanence of pen to be a problem for the most part. It forces you to be more precise with your art, it forces you to show your work [as in keep all the rough lines in tact, which I love to see in art], and still allows for a smudge effect thought it be a different technique. My name is Dave Yin, and I sketch with a ball-point pen. |

you've got quite good gallery
